Connector Systems appointed Lantronix distributor

Agreement will provide resellers with wide ranging IoT opportunities

Auckland, New Zealand, 26 April 2017 – Connector Systems, an Ingram Micro New Zealand company, today announced it has been appointed New Zealand Lantronix distributor, effective immediately.

Mark Dasent, Connector Systems general manager, says the distribution agreement offers a broad range of new business opportunities for Connector Systems and Ingram Micro resellers in the Internet of Things and IT infrastructure management sectors.

“As a leader in providing knowledge-driven IT solutions to the New Zealand market since 1979, Connector Systems prides itself on partnering with established brands like Lantronix. We’re excited to add Lantronix’s innovative portfolio of industrial and networking solutions to our catalogue of best-of-breed products,” says Dasent.

Jeff Benck, Lantronix president and CEO, says the New Zealand distribution agreement is a logical extension of the longstanding relationship between Ingram Micro and Lantronix in the USA and Europe.

“Ingram Micro has been a valued partner of Lantronix in the Americas and Europe and we’re pleased to expand our relationship to the South Pacific. This strategic partnership allows Lantronix to further our reach and support new customers with our industry leading IT infrastructure management and IoT device gateway solutions. We look forward to a prosperous relationship with Ingram Micro’s Connector Systems team,” says Benck.

Dasent says the depth and range of Lantronix products is an excellent fit for the New Zealand market.

“Lantronix provides robust in-band and out-of-band management systems, with the highest levels of security. At the same time, the modularity of Lantronix’ offerings allow for the scalability, customisation and flexibility that a diverse market like New Zealand needs.”

“Take, for example, the SLC 8000, which is the industry’s first modular, high-density USB console solution supporting next generation devices from Brocade, Cisco, HP and others. It’s perfect for New Zealand, because not only can it be used across a wide range of industries, education and government, but because of its modular nature, it can scale to fit requirements as needed,” says Dasent.

According to Dasent, the combination of Lantronix and the Internet of Things offers local resellers a raft of new business opportunities.

“Lantronix is a market leader in IoT, with products that provide connectivity, communications and remote management capabilities to a vast array of devices – including legacy gear designed and built before the IoT was even a whisper on a tech marketer’s lips. The opportunities for smart resellers are queueing up, just waiting to be grabbed,” says Dasent.

The quality of Lantronix equipment and the R & D testing regime it undergoes prior to shipping, makes it ideal for New Zealand conditions, says Dasent.

“You only have to look at how Lantronix tests its equipment ( to realise it’s a perfect technical and cultural match for the innovative approach that Kiwis are best known for,” says Dasent.

Connector Systems says that resellers interested in Lantronix solutions can take advantage of new test drive and trial programmes that have been launched as part of the distribution agreement.
