Dale Smith - Managing Director
Dale is a New Zealand Chartered accountant with experience in owning and operating medium sized businesses. Prior to owning Connector Systems, Dale owned a large logistics and transport business within New Zealand with approximately 200 staff. Prior to that Dale was a practicing chartered accountant within New Zealand. Dale’s skills are within financial management, productivity improvement, supply chain efficiency and general business management with a focus on business growth. Dale is very passionate about technology and how it can help New Zealand businesses to improve productivity.
Mark Dasent - General Manager – Network and Wireless
Mark has worked in the IT industry for over 18 years in various roles ranging from Product and Sales Management to General Management. Mark’s skills are in vendor and channel development and ensuring that we are always delivering value to both vendors and resellers.
Kevin Swainson - General Manager – Security and Telecommunications
Kevin has worked in the New Zealand IT market for more than 20 years in various roles ranging from high-end technical support through to product management, marketing and business development.
During his career, Kevin gained several technical certifications including MCSE, Master CNE, CCNA and Citrix Certified Professional, and has developed a thorough understanding of IT hardware infrastructure and software solutions. Kevin brings a unique blend of his vast experience and technical knowledge to the business.
Mark Skelton – General Manager – Supply Chain
Mark joined Connector Systems in 2012 having come from a large global corporation where he gained more than 18 years of experience leading and managing supply chain and operations functions across Australasia. Mark holds a NZ Diploma in Management and APICS Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and has extensive experience managing multi-national supply chains.
Ian Prisk - General Manager - Professional Services
Ian’s industry background includes development, analysis, team management, project management, the holding of executive positions and the founding of a software service company providing large-scale, project-oriented services to customers in New Zealand, Australia and Europe. Prior to this Ian enjoyed an extensive career in military signals and intelligence.
Sachin Balu – Business Development Manager – Auckland Region
Sachin has been with Connector Systems for 5 ½ years. He began in the CSR / Inside Sales team. Sachin is very experienced in the structured cabling side of the business and combines this with an excellent understanding of the networking infrastructure products. Sachin is incredibly customer focused. Sachin has a Diploma in Electronic Engineering and have also completed both Molex & Allied Telesis training courses.
Serena Underwood – Business Development Manager – Auckland Region
Serena joined the team at Connector Systems in 2013 as a Business Development Manager and brings with her a passion for innovative technology. She has been in the IT industry for over 10 years with experience in a wide range of products. Coming from a reseller background she is extremely customer focused and excellent at building long term customer relationships ensuring a great customer experience.
Simon Gillson - Brocade Business Manager
Simon has spent the last 17 years in the IT industry and has considerable experience managing large networks initially as a network technician and most recently as IT Director at a large tertiary provider. He is a keen user of Brocade equipment and has extensive experience implementing data centres, large campus infrastructure and wireless. Simon holds an MBA and clearly understands the challenge of aligning IT to business needs and ensuring customer satisfaction. He has strengths in strategic planning, relationship management, vendor management and procurement. Simon is passionate about ensuring technology meets business objectives and always looks for ways to innovate and provide future proof solutions.
Richard Greasley - Product Manager - Voice, Cabling, Industrial Solutions
Richard has over 20 years sales and marketing experience, including 6 years in Retail Sales and 14 years in IT Distribution. Richard has a passion for technology products and for developing long term customer relationships.
Clint Harris - Product Manager
Having previously worked in IT for several years before heading off to the UK in 2008, Clint knows a fair bit about the industry. He has joined the Connector Systems team as a Product Manager for Brocade, Aerohive, Sophos, and Aspen Optics.
Darren Luke - Business Development Manager - Lower North Island
Darren has worked extensively in the IT industry since 1994 in various roles from technical and sales to sales support and account management. Darren has fulfilled various roles ranging from account management, consultative selling, to vendor management and training. He has been in account management/relationship roles in the OEM, commercial and enterprise markets. Darren’s strengths are in relationship management, change management, consultative selling, vendor management and training.
Aparna Rumao –CSR Team Leader
Aparna has overall responsibility of the customer support team. Aparna holds a Bachelor in computer software and a Diploma in computing.
Andrew Sula
Andrew has previously worked for Sony, Optus Australia, Telecom NZ and Sky Television in outbound sales and technical roles and most recently worked for Finda/Yellow pages.
Bill Walker -Product Specialist
Bill Walker has been with Connector Systems for just under 2 years, in this time he has progressed from within the customer services team to a product specialist role. Bill looks after a range of products for Connector Systems on a pre and post-sales technical support level. He also maintains Connector Systems internal IT infrastructure. Bill is currently working towards his CCNA certification and works to develop proof of concepts for customers were required.
Kylie Clark
Kylie has an extensive amount of experience in the data networking area. With high levels of expertise in the Brocade, Adtran and Aerohive range of products, Kylie’s experience in designing, implementing and supporting high performance redundant network solutions for both the enterprise and Tertiary education sectors have allowed him to understand how network technology can enhance business and learning objectives. In over 15 years of being involved in the IT industry he has achieved qualifications in various products including an MCSE, Fluke Networks FCSE, Brocade, and Checkpoint CCSP. Kylie provides Connector Systems with a broad range of skills including datacentre design, high availability network solutions, and wireless systems design.
Emily-Jane Wrigley - Marketing Communications
Emily-Jane gained a BA in English Literature which led her to become a copy writer and conceptualiser in ad-land. She then moved into a very successful direct marketing company writing TV ads and direct marketing campaigns. Along the way she has learned the essential design programs required to produce good quality advertising material.
